Ideaz is an acronym (Innovation, Design, Engineering, A to Z) that embodies what we are all about—a full-service innovation partner that can take your program from A to Z.
Ideaz was established in 1999 by Jim Sener (Industrial Designer/Creative Director) and David Mathieu (Mechanical Engineer/Engineering Director). The genesis was to bring industrial design and engineering together in a cohesive approach to problem solving that incorporates engineering and design throughout the entire program. We feel strongly that you really can't design a product without knowing exactly how it's going to be built. Our designers and engineers understand this and work as a team to solve complex problems, enabling projects to transition through to manufacturing smoothly and efficiently.
Our work spans many diverse categories—from juvenile products to complex hardware products—for companies as varied as Hasbro and Burton Snowboards. This breadth of experiences allows us to think outside typical product boundaries and embrace a different way of doing things, which has resulted in break-through products that create a real impact for clients.
In addition to working in the consumer and hardware space, Ideaz works on many outdoor products. Many of us being outdoor enthusiasts gives our team a deep understanding of how an outdoor product should look, feel, and perform. We work with some of the best brands in the business to create entire product lines—brands like Cannondale, Easton Bell Sports, FOX, Topeak, and Tubbs Snowshoes.
We've spent many years traveling to Asia and managing manufacturing start-ups, assembly lines, quality control initiatives and other programs to ensure a quality deliverable for our clients.
We work hard for our clients and have been recognized by our peers at ID Magazine, Chicago Athenaeum, Appliance Magazine, Outside Magazine and others. That's why clients like Cannondale Bicycles, K2 Sports, Proctor & Gamble, and Jarden have trusted us with their businesses for up to 10 years.
